La Maison de Maître
The Maison de Maître is the centre-piece of La Tannerie.
The house was built in the 1870s as the home of the owners of what was then a working tannery. In its recent past it has been a hotel and a restaurant, and it was converted to its present use about 16 years ago.
On the ground floor impressive double front doors lead into the hall. To one side there is a sitting room which is equipped with a television, with UK free-to-view channels, and a DVD player.
On the opposite side of the hall is a second sitting room which leads through to the dining room. A large dining table seats 10 comfortably.
The kitchen sits across the back of the house and is fully equipped with a range cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.
French windows lead from the kitchen onto the large deck overlooking the rear garden and pool.
There are four bedrooms, each of which has an en suite shower room.
Rooms 1 and 2 have double beds; Rooms 3 and 4 can be twin or triple rooms.
Rooms 2 and 3 are linked by an internal door, offering the option of a family suite.
As with the gîtes, cots, high-chairs and stair-gates are available on request.
La Maison de Maître will normally only be available for rent during the summer months, but it does offer a warm and welcoming home for a family get-together at Christmas and the New Year.
